(Jan. 26, 2018) – Trey Starks and the Gobrecht Motorsports team will kick off an ambitious schedule next week during the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions season-opening tripleheader.
Starks, who is coming off back-to-back stellar seasons that saw him reach new heights, is slated to compete Feb. 1-3 at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Fla., during the Bubba Army Winter Nationals before making his debut at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla., Feb. 7-11 with both the All Stars and the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series. “I’ve been excited for the season to start since we wrapped up last season,” he said. “Scott Gobrecht, Jeff McCall and everyone with Gobrecht Motorsports works hard to put winning cars on the track. I think our growth has been really strong since we teamed up and I’m looking forward to the Florida events as well as the 2018 season.” Starks wrapped up last season at Bubba Raceway Park, where he won the opening night of a USCS Series doubleheader before earning the Hard Charger Award for maneuvering from 14th to fifth place during the finale. He also placed second and won, respectively, during his first-ever visit to the oval in 2015. “It’s a unique track, but one we’ve ran well at,” he said. “We’ve won two of our four races there and have finished in the top five all four times so that is a big confidence booster moving forward.” The Gobrecht Motorsports team will venture to Volusia Speedway Park the following week for five straight nights of racing. The first two are under the All Stars banner with the final three races sanctioned by the World of Outlaws. Starks captured his first career All Star feature victory last season and he is seeking his first career World of Outlaws win. “Both weekends in Florida will be tough,” he said. “The competition will be as challenging as it gets, but this is a great opportunity for our team. It’s also the earliest I’ve started a season so I think that will help tremendously.” UP NEXT – Feb. 1-3 at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Fla., for the Bubba Army Winter Nationals with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions Brock Zearfoss debuts 93-race schedule; Will begin season at Port Royal on March 10
By Fully Injected Motorsports: JONESTOWN, Pa. (January 28, 2018) – With a track championship in Central Pennsylvania to his credit, the “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss will now set his aim higher, ready to tackle a schedule consisting of nearly 100 events across areas of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, New York, North Carolina, and Iowa. Molding his 2018 plans around many of the major events in Central Pennsylvania including Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek, Tuscarora 50 weekend, and all of the scheduled World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series programs, Zearfoss will also make appearances at some of the nation’s premier events such as the Kings Royal at Eldora Speedway and the Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway. The Jonestown, Pa., native will begin his 2018 campaign during the Port Royal Speedway opener on Saturday, March 10. “We’ve been working on this schedule for a while and I think this is a perfect fit for us this year,” Zearfoss said, who earned a Port Royal Speedway title in 2017. “We wanted to hit the road a little bit more and this allows us to do that. I’m pretty psyched to visit Eldora [Speedway] for the Kings Royal, as well as Knoxville [Raceway] for the Nationals. If we want to put our team in the national spotlight, we need to be at these events. I’m confident we have what it takes to be competitive.” In addition to his planned appearances at Eldora’s Kings Royal and Knoxville’s coveted Knoxville Nationals, Brock Zearfoss will also enter Mansfield Motor Speedway’s Sprint Car World Championship worth $100,000, a trio of Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 events in New York on June 8-10, and the season-ending World of Outlaws World Finals at the Dirt Track at Charlotte. If things go according to plan, Zearfoss will also perform double-duty during select ASCS and URC events in Central Pennsylvania. “We want to race as much as possible,” Zearfoss added. “I wouldn’t be in this position without my dedicated supporters. We have so many people to thank. Their hard work and dedication allows us to have the equipment necessary to be a winning combination. We proved our potential in Central Pennsylvania, now we’ll attempt to prove it out on the road.” 2018 Racing Schedule: 10-MarPort Royal 11-MarWilliams Grove 16-MarWilliams Grove 17-MarPort Royal 23-MarWilliams Grove 24-MarPort Royal 30-MarWilliams Grove 31-MarPort Royal 6-AprWilliams Grove 7-AprPort Royal 8-AprBAPS Motor Speedway 13-AprWilliams GroveAll Stars 14-AprPort RoyalAll Stars 20-AprWilliams Grove 21-AprPort RoyalURC/410 22-AprSelinsgroveTilley Classic 27-AprMansfieldWorld Champ 28-AprMansfieldWorld Champ 4-MayWilliams GroveASCS/410 5-MayPort Royal 6-MayBAPS Motor SpeedwayGobrecht 11-MayWilliams Grove 12-MayPort Royal 16-MayLincolnOutlaws 18-MayWilliams GroveOutlaws 19-MayWilliams GroveOutlaws 25-MayWilliams GroveWalt Dyer 26-MayPort RoyalWeikert 27-MayPort RoyalWeikert 1-JunWilliams Grove 2-JunPort Royal 7-JunBAPS Motor Speedway 8-JunOutlaw SpeedwayAll Stars 9-JunStateline SpeedwayAll Stars 10-JunWeedsport SpeedwayAll Stars 15-JunWilliams Grove 16-JunPort Royal 17-JunBAPS Motor SpeedwayURC 22-JunWilliams Grove 23-JunPort Royal 29-JunWilliams GroveSpeedweek 30-JunLincolnSpeedweek 1-JulPath ValleySpeedweek 2-JulLincolnSpeedweek 3-JulGrandviewSpeedweek 4-JulPort RoyalSpeedweek / URC 5-JulHagerstownSpeedweek 6-JulWilliams GroveSpeedweek 7-JulPort RoyalSpeedweek 8-JulSelinsgroveSpeedweek 12-JulEldoraOutlaws 13-JulEldoraOutlaws 14-JulEldoraOutlaws 20-JulWilliams GroveOutlaws 21-JulWilliams GroveOutlaws 27-JulWilliams Grove 28-JulPort RoyalDream 3-AugWilliams Grove 4-AugPort Royal 8-AugKnoxvilleNationals 9-AugKnoxvilleNationals 10-AugKnoxvilleNationals 11-AugKnoxvilleNationals 17-AugWilliams Grove 18-AugPort Royal 23-AugGrandviewAll Stars 24-AugWilliams GroveAll Stars 25-AugLincolnAll Stars 26-AugBAPS Motor SpeedwayAll Stars 31-AugWilliams GroveDouble Duty 1-SepPort Royal 2-SepWilliams GroveBilly Kimmel 3-SepPort RoyalLabor Day 7-SepPort RoyalTuscarora 50 8-SepPort RoyalTuscarora 50 14-SepWilliams GroveDC Qual 15-SepSelinsgroveAll Stars 20-SepBAPS Motor Speedway 21-SepWilliams Grove 22-SepLincolnDirt Classic 28-SepWilliams GroveOutlaws 29-SepWilliams GroveOutlaws 5-OctWilliams Grove 6-OctLincoln 12-OctPort Royal 13-OctBAPS Motor Speedway 14-OctSelinsgroveWorld Series 20-OctPort RoyalURC/410 26-OctPort RoyalOutlaws 27-OctPort RoyalOutlaws 1-NovCharlotteOutlaws 2-NovCharlotteOutlaws 3-NovCharlotteOutlawsFans can keep up with Brock Zearfoss during his entire campaign right here at www.fullyinjected.com, or at www.brockzearfoss.com. Trevor Baker signed the papers to run full-time with the All Star Circuit of Champions for the 2018 season. After running a handful of All Star races last season and native to Ohio, Trevor Baker and the Coblentz Trucking, No. 45 team thought it would be beneficial to compete with the series full-time. The original plan was to just run wherever and whenever they could; hitting major events, the majority of All Star races, along with some World of Outlaw events.
Trevor and the Baker's Mobile Home Transport entry are preparing to hit the road this weekend for Florida. They will kick off the 2018 season at Bubba Raceway Park on February, 1st for a three day All Star Circuit of Champions event. Trevor is no stranger to Bubba Raceway Park as he competed there several times in a Micro Sprint. Trevor has only one appearance at Bubba Raceway Park in a 410 Sprint Car, dating back to last year at the same event. Trevor speaks on this decision, "I am really excited to run with the All Stars full-time. The benefits they offer to full-time drivers are exceptional, and the series is ran in a professional manner. I am glad they have Knoxville and Eldora on their schedule, two tracks I am looking forward to racing at this season. I think it should be a good year for our team, and I am looking forward to still racing a lot of World of Outlaw events." Trevor and T-Rev Performance will focus on the All Star Circuit of Champions tour and compete for Rookie of the Year title. His schedule is not finalized yet, but the Exodus Cycle, Triple-X No. 45 entry still plans to hit as many World of Outlaw events as possible. Per Tyler Altmeyer
Mobil 1 joins Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions as Series Presenting Sponsor; Mobil 1 Racing Oils Available for Use by Teams Looking to Upgrade Horsepower and Improve Engine Protection BROWNSBURG, Ind. (January 26, 2018) - Mobil 1, the world’s leading synthetic motor oil brand, is now the exclusive and official motor oil of Tony Stewart’s Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, joining America's original winged sprint car series as the presenting sponsor for the 2018 season. A connection that dates back nearly five decades, motorsports continues to form a key element in ExxonMobil’s heritage and pedigree, constantly pushing ahead with new technological advances to improve their range of oils and lubricants. Its relationship with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will ensure an important grassroots presence, which is a building block to many of the world’s leading motorsports divisions. “We are excited to welcome Mobil 1 to the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions in 2018,” Tony Stewart, owner of the Arctic Cat All Stars, said. “The Mobil 1 brand’s reputation and rich tradition in motorsports speaks for itself. It is without a doubt that their support will help our Series continue to grow. All of my race teams at the Cup and grassroots levels use Mobil 1 exclusively and we are excited to work with ExxonMobil to introduce their products to the All Star engine builders, team owners, crews and drivers in 2018.” “Mobil 1 has long been the lubricant of choice for championship race teams competing in various series around the world ranging from NASCAR and Formula 1 to rally, sportscar and dirt track racing,” said Kai Decker, global motorsports and sponsorship manager for ExxonMobil Fuels & Lubricants. “We are excited to start working with teams in the series to use test and use our racing oil technology and expertise in the competitive and exciting Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions. Our goal is to not only help racers and teams improve on-track performance, but also to provide them with an opportunity to invest in engine protection using technology that has been proven on the toughest tracks in the world.” ExxonMobil produces a variety of track-use and track/street-use racing oils. The company’s track-use only includes Mobil 1 Racing 0W-30 and Mobil 1 Racing 0W-50 feature double the zinc levels versus street oils and are specifically designed to maximize horsepower and reduce friction in race engines. Mobil 1 Racing oils have been used to win at nearly every level of racing and are now being made available to engine builders and teams looking to upgrade to improve wear protection and reduce friction to deliver increased horsepower. Mobil 1 Racing Oils are currently used by many championship winning dirt-track teams including Keith Kunz Motorsports and Donny Schatz of Tony Stewart Racing in the World of Outlaws Series. In fact, Christopher Bell, winner of the 2018 Chili Bowl, utilized Mobil 1 Racing Oils. The Mobil 1 brand of products extend beyond race engine oil. ExxonMobil also provides a full line of greases, gear oils, and towing oils, gear lubes and greases that can be used in truck haulers. For more information on where to purchase Mobil 1 Racing Oil products, contact your engine builder, visit: www.mobiloil.com or purchase online at: www.mobil1racingstore.com. Joining a long list of dedicated Series partners, Mobil 1 will help carry the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions to nine states in 2018, conducting 55 events at 36 different dirt ovals. The season will ignite officially on Thursday, February 1 when “America’s Series” invades Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Fla. The Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Racing Series powered by Pace Performance is pleased to announced that Dog Hollow Speedway in Northern Cambria, Pa. will be the newest Sweeney RUSH Late Model Weekly Series beginning this season with weekly Friday night racing. The first ever RUSH-sanctioned event at Dog Hollow will actually occur on Saturday, April 21 with their “Spring Time Spectacular” before weekly Friday night racing gets underway on Friday, April 27.
The 2018 season will mark the 20th anniversary year of racing at Dog Hollow and fifth now under the promotion of DMS Motorsports/Dan Savino. Track owner and former promoter, Jim Michny, built the speedway that opened in 1998. Dog Hollow was one of the first four speedways to run Crate Late Models in the Northeast weekly beginning in 2007. The 2018 season will now be the 12th straight year with Crate Late Models in competition and now first under the RUSH banner. “We’re thrilled to be able to bring Dog Hollow on board with RUSH,” stated RUSH Director Vicki Emig. “We’ve had talks with Dan Savino every year since he’s been promoting Dog Hollow and we can’t express how much we appreciate it that he has made the decision to have the track be part of our program. This will also give racers at Saturday night tracks, Pittsburgh and Roaring Knob, the ability to run a second night to accumulate points towards our valuable Championship programs.” “Our decision moving to the RUSH Series was not an easy one after running the CARS series at the track for the last three years,” explained Dog Hollow promoter Dan Savino. “However after watching the progress of the RUSH Series and what it represents in Crate Late Model racing and receiving input from a majority of Crate Late racers at Dog Hollow it was time for a change. We are looking forward to this opportunity and are very excited to watch this division continue to grow and evolve.” RUSH member racers will be able to participate at Dog Hollow on a weekly basis and be eligible for all of the programs including the Sweeney Weekly Series Championship, the Pace Performance “Summer Chase”, and the “Futures Cup” for those eligible racers. Member racers will battle for the “Track Pack Bonus” with $300 going to the driver that accumulates the most RUSH points at Dog Hollow, $200 for second, $150 for third, $100 for fourth, and $50 for fifth. Contingency prizes will then be posted for those racers in sixth through eighth in the RUSH member points at Dog Hollow. While membership is not mandatory to compete in any RUSH-sanctioned event, membership also includes a $100,000 excess participant accident policy, which is over and above drivers’ health insurance and speedways’ participant accident policy. A transitional process will allow Dog Hollow’s previously legal tires for four completed events on the rears and six completed events on the fronts; otherwise RUSH’s Hoosier USA25 and/or 55 stamped Crate Racin’ USA Tires will be mandated. The RUSH 91 or Sunoco 110 fuel will be mandated from the start as these were the required fuels in 2017. Drivers need to be aware of RUSH’s rules for legal seals. In 1996, Jim Michny began construction of a 4/10-mile clay dirt track. Two years later, Jim with the help of his brother John opened the track under the name Dog Hollow Speedway in the spring 1998. Over the years the track ran Friday night racing events hosting just about every class of cars as well as special racing events including the World of Outlaws Late Model Series in 2011. In June of 2013, Dog Hollow Speedway closed its doors and canceled the remainder of their race season due to economic constraints. A few months after closing, Dan Savino, an avid racing enthusiast, would seize the opportunity to bring the track back to its Friday night glory. Dog Hollow Speedway reopened in early May of 2014 and is now currently in its 5th year of racing under the new management of Mr. Savino. Jim Michny‘s right hand man Terry ‘Mole’ Bassaro played a big role at Dog Hollow from track maintenance, concession stand work, public relations and marketing. Terry was very much involved with all types of race cars, but he especially loved the Crate Late Model class helping fellow racer Mike Laughard in the #38L for many years. Carl Bowser to Join All Star Circuit of Champions Tour in 2018 in Chiappelli Motorsports #981/28/2018 After a successful season in 2017 in his first year in the Chiappelli Motorsports #98, Carl Bowser and the #98 team will launch the driver’s rookie season with the All Star Sprint Circuit of Champions in 2018.
“To be able to take a car out on the All Star tour with Tom and Fran and our team means a lot,” Bowser said. “We had been heading in this direction by adding more All Star races and travel in 2016 when we bought the #10 team out. When we decided to partner with Tom and Fran, we all sat down and decided to put one season of more aggressive traveling together before we committed to the All Star schedule.” The 2017 season was a year of growth for Bowser, running 43 races primarily in Central PA and putting the #98 car in victory lane three times. The 2018 season has more than 70 dates on the schedule between 50 races on the All Star schedule, local shows in Western PA and special events. “We have taken more risks and raced tougher cars in preparation for a long future together with Tom and Fran,” Bowser said. “We’re confident that this is the right next step for us, especially with the caliber of cars that we’re going to be up against with the All Stars. Our crew and sponsors have been really supportive of our goals, so we’re excited to move forward together as a team because we couldn’t do it without that.” Bowser will kick off the 2018 season in March in Central PA to prepare for the All Star points opener at Atomic Speedway on Friday, April 6th. |
